MUMBAI: Micromax has unveiled its first solar handset ‘X259’ in the Indian market.
The device is embedded with special solar cells and an in-built solar panel that can be charged through solar energy. The dual sim handset further sports 2.4 inch QVGA screen, 240X320 pixel resolution, VGA camera, audio and video player, FM radio with recording, dual standby, 1000mAh Li-ion battery, bluetooth, GPRS, Mi-Zone and M-Store for multimedia content.
Micromax co-founder Rahul Sharma said, “We have been at the forefront of innovation and introduced many categories into this competitive industry, be it long battery life phones or dual sim phones. With the introduction of this handset, our intent is to get rid of the mobile phone charger by including a solar panel on the device itself.”
The device is priced at Rs 2499.
