Micromax unveils Pike X510 - touch multimedia phone

MUMBAI: Micromax Mobiles has announced the launch of Pike X510, its latest touchscreen mobile in India.

MediaTek Inc, a leading semiconductor company for wireless communications and digital multimedia solutions has made wireless communication chipset for the new multimedia handset.

Pike X510 boasts of a 2.8 inch full touch screen display with 240 x 400 pixels resolution. It has expandable memory of up to 16 GB using micro SD card. It also has a 2 megapixel camera, a multi format music player, WiFi, 3.5 mm jack, Bluetooth and FM radio.

It supports five colour back panel including black, red, silver, orange and yellow. It also supports Java with which users can download and try out the Java Games and Applications. Social networking sites like Snaptu and Facebook with browsers Nimbuzz and Opera Mini are preloaded on the phone.

MediaTek director-business development Arun Gupta said, MediaTek's chipsets are the most popularly used chipsets in handsets these days. It runs on a high frequency with an ARM based technology at its core and enables a host of functions in phones like Bluetooth, EDGE etc....

The handset is priced at Rs 5,499
