LG launches GW550 smartphone in India

MUMBAI: LG Electronics has announced the launch of the new Windows 6.5 based samrtphone GW550 in India.

The handset has a 2.4 inches colour screen that provides a 65k colour display with a screen resolution of 320 x 240 pixels. Users can get MicroSD memory card slot that supports up to 8GB. It comprises Quad band technology that covers four GSM networks with HSDPA 900 & 2100.

The smartphone offers the latest Microsoft Windows Mobile 6.5 operating system with Microsoft Office 2010, Windows Live messenger and Facebook. The handset is also furnished with 3.1 mega pixels camera with digital zoom, camera key, photo settings and photo album feature. Side by side the users can record various footage on the move and play them no matter wherever they are. In addition, the phone has FM radio and an operable music player that supports MP3, AAC, AAC+ & WMA music formats. MP3 and polyphonic ringtones are loaded.

The 3G compatible quad band mobile phone is designed be readily available in their handsets for optimum social networking on the go. The slim design and convenient productivity tools help users manage their time well, be connected around the clock and work more efficiently.

It is incorporated with a full QWERTY keyboard and users can use internet with WAP 2.0 web browser that supports HTML and XHTML technologies. The handset also has EDGE and GPRS technologies for the hi-speed connectivity.

Users can also download wallpapers and screen savers from LG App Store. The handset is equipped with Wireless Bluetooth, cabled USB, 3G HSDPA and HSUPA.

The smartphone is priced at Rs 12799.
