Konka unveils smartphone Tuxedo 990

MUMBAI: Konka in collaboration with MAK Mobility Private Limited has unveiled a dual-SIM smartphone 'Tuxedo 990' in the Indian market.

The device features 5 inch WVGA IPS LCD display, android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, 1.0GHZ dual core processor, 512MB RAM, 4GB internal memory expandable upto 32GB via microSD, 5MP auto focus camera with LED flash, 0.3MP, bluetooth 3.0, USB 2.0, WiFi, 3.5 mm ear jack, audio call record and 2400mAh battery.

MAK Mobility Pvt Ltd director Manish Pengoriya said, “We are optimistic of the smart stay of Konka Tuxedo in Indian markets and embellishment of its distribution network across India. We believe that Konka will gain a stronger footing in India’s growing mobile market by providing smart devices bundled with cloud based services and applications. The mobile consumers’ increasing preference for high end handsets is going to make India an even larger market with unit shipment of INR 210 million by 2016. This lays a huge platform for the company to bring its innovative and integrated mobile phone solutions into Indian market.”

The handset is also embedded with apps and services like Smart Stay, K-Connect, MyCloud and K-Store delivering customised India specific content.

Telecom Konka chairman Li Hongtao said, “In business, the accessories you carry can make all the difference and with the launch of Tuxedo, we are pitching it right. We see big opportunity in the smartphone segment in India which contributes 25 per cent by value and 10 per cent by units sold. With these current telecom trends and our earnest endeavour to deliver innovative products with excellent quality and reliability, we are stepping into the Indian smartphone market. We aim to offer quality products with novel features matching the expectations of the discerning consumers.”

The device is priced for Rs 14999.
