MUMBAI: Radio Media Village 90.8 FM, first community radio service in Kerala, has truly served the sole motive of a Community Radio Station (CRS).  Besides keeping its community abreast of the latest happenings, the station has collected Rs 1 crore for kidney patients.

The not-for-profit radio service that serves geographic communities and their interests is a venture of St. Joseph College of Communication. It is the first University affiliated Media College in South India. It aims to bring voice to the voiceless by involving members of the community in the broadcast of programmes.

MUMBAI: Monster Rock Orchestra (MRO), the signature performance of the 2013 Mississauga Waterfront Festival (MWF), was a resounding success as it doled out awesome music and an incredible laser show for the audience on 14-15 June 2013 at the Port Credit Memorial Park.

"This year the crowd was bigger than any of the years Monster Rock Orchestra has played at the festival," said Vikas Kohli, Producer, MRO. "The audience was amazing and screamed for encores on both nights!  It's all thanks to our top-notch musicians, my team, Joe Natale for overseeing the technical production, the Mississauga Waterfront Festival board of directors for having the vision to see this through, as well as the City of Mississauga and the sponsors for supporting us in this venture."

MUMBAI: From the past two years, talented lyricist/singer Priya Panchal has been concentrating only on writing songs. Panchal, who kept away from intense media coverage, has taken baby steps and shaped many films songs lately with her profound lyrics. Pradhu Deva’s Ramaiya Vastavaiya is one of the recent examples where she has penned six soulful tracks.

Speaking with Radioandmusic.com, Panchal says, “Pradhu Deva sir was very sure what he wanted good lyrics. He specified that the characters are young; it should be poetic but not lyrically heavy.  It took me four months to finish the track.”
