  Ustad Vilayat Khan remembered on his birth anniversary

New Delhi: Sitar maestro Ustad Vilayat Khan was remembered here on his 83rd birth anniversary.

Zila Khan, his daughter and famous Sufi singer, enthralled the audience with her performance on the occasion at a function last night, reports PTI.

A series of pictures of Ustad Vilayat Khan in different moods and with prominent personalities like Jawahar Lal Nehru, Shankar Dayal Sharma and Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan were shown to the audience.

The function was attended by family friends including Union Minister Salman Khurshid, Sahara Group Chairman Subrata Roy, social activist Nafisa Ali, former cricketer Sunil Gavaskar and Congress MP Rajiv Shukla.

Students from different city schools training under Zila Khan also performed on the occasion.
