RAM Wk 42: Red FM, Radio City tied second in Mumbai

MUMBAI; After weeks of vying for the second spot, Red FM and Radio City had a tie in week 42 in Mumbai. At 13.7 per cent market share, Red FM added 0.1 point while Radio City gained 0.2 points. Mirchi lost 0.3 points. Mumbai also saw two stations locking horns for the third spot. Overall, the week was a mixed bag for Radio One. The station gained several points in Bangalore and  Kolkata but lost in Delhi and Mumbai. AIR FM Gold saw a good run in the week as it added points in Mumbai, Delhi and Kolkata.

Bangalore - Leader Big FM maintained status quo at 19.6 per cent market share. At second spot Radio Mirchi lost 0.1 point to end the week at 17.3 per cent. Fever remained static in week 42 at 15.2 per cent market share. Radio City at fourth position also lost 0.1 point to keep a share of 12.7 per cent. AIR FM Rainbow lost 0.3 points to end with a market share of 9.3 per cent. After not so good run last week, Radio One upped its ante to gain an impressive 0.7 points. It pushed behind Red FM to grab the sixth position and end the week at a share of 8.7 per cent. At a close 8.6 per cent market share, Red FM maintained status quo in week 42.

Delhi - Radio Mirchi gained 0.1 point in the Capital to end the week at a market share of 24.4 per cent. At second spot Fever gained 0.2 points to keep a share of 18.4 per cent. AIR FM inched forward as it gained 0.5 points to end with a market share of 17.7 per cent. Red FM remained static at 9.7 per cent. Radio City lost 0.1 point in the city to keep a share of 8.4 per cent. Big FM maintained status quo at 7.7 per cent. At seventh spot Radio One lost 0.4 points to take a share of 5.1 per cent. Meow FM also lost 0.2 points to keep 2.2 per cent of market share.

Kolkata - Leader Radio Mirchi lost 0.2 points to end with a share of 20.6 per cent. At second and third spot, both Big FM and Friends FM lost 0.5 points to keep a market share of 17.2 and 11.3 per cent respectively. Aamar FM lost 0.1 point to take a share of 10.7 per cent. Both Fever FM (fifth spot) and Red FM (sixth spot) added 0.1 point to end with a market share of 8.9 and 8.6 respectively. Radio One added 0.4 points to its kitty to grab a market share of 6.5 per cent. Oye! FM lost 0.6 points in the city to end with a market share of 4.2 per cent.

At 11.9 per cent market share Big FM maintained status quo and AIR FM gained 0.3 points. It will be interesting to see the battle for second and third spot in the city next week. At fourth spot Fever lost 0.1 point to keep 11.2 per cent market share. AIR FM Rainbow inched forward as it gained 0.5 points to keep a market share of 5.8 per cent. Radio One lost 0.2 points to end with a market share of 5.7 per cent.
