RAM Stats: Radio Mirchi is market leader in Mumbai & Kolkata

MUMBAI: The Radio Audience Measurement (RAM) has released the data for the week 51'11 to 2'12 (18-12-2011 to 14-01-2012). Radio Mirchi is the number one FM station in Mumbai and Kolkata, while Radio City is the market leader in Bangalore and Fever FM in Delhi.

Radio Mirchi is number one with 15.2% (+0.1%), slightly ahead of Radio City 15% in Mumbai. AIR FM2-Gold is at the third position with a market share of 14%, while Big FM is the biggest gainer of the week which added 0.6% share to close the week at 12.2% as a clear number four.

Fever FM, a strong number one in Delhi, dropped 0.7% from its city-leading market share of 19.5% to reach 18.8% ahead of AIR FM2-Gold which inspite of losing 1.8% remained at number two with 18.3%. However, Mirchi with a 16.7% market share (- 0.3%) was at number three.

In Bangalore, it was a memorable week for Radio City, which claimed the number one position with a market share of 24.6% (+0.6) ahead of traditional market leader Big FM, who dropped at number three having lost 0.5% with 17.9% share.  Radio Mirchi claimed the second spot there by registering a gain of 0.5% with a market share of 23.6%.

In Kolkata, Radio Mirchi became the clear market leader at 23.3% racing further ahead of the number two-placed Big FM which gained 0.6% with 17.4%.Friends FM which lost 0.8%, closed the week in Kolkata at number three with a market share of 14.9%.
