Big FM inches up in B'lore, Kolkata and Mumbai

MUMBAI: Big FM saw a good run in week 28 as it added points in the metros of Bangalore, Kolkata and Mumbai while maintaining status quo in Delhi. Leader Mirchi also had a satisfied performance in the week.

Radio One tumbled this week losing considerably in Bangalore, Kolkata and Delhi though it managed to add few points in Mumbai.

Bangalore- After losing considerable strides last week, Big FM managed to gain 0.2 points in week 28 pocketing a  market share of 19.5 per cent. Radio Mirchi which came next in row lost 0.2 points to take home 17.7 per cent from total pie. Fever maintained status quo at 15.4 per cent. After a good run last week Radio City lost grip to shed off 0.4 points and take home away a share of 12.2 per cent. AIR FM Rainbow gained 0.1 points. For the sixth position battle, Red FM managed to score above competitor Radio One this week, as it gained 0.2 points and snatched a market share of 8.8 per cent. Radio One lost 0.3 points.

Delhi- In the Capital, leader Mirchi saw a surge in listnership as it added 0.2 points to its haul and shaved off an massive 24.8 per cent of the pie. Fever continued to inch its way up adding 0.1 points to its catch of 18.9 per cent. At the third spot AIR FM Gold also gained 0.1 points. Red FM tumbled in week 28 as well, losing 0.1 points. Last week's gainer Radio City saw faded performance in week 28. It lost 0.2 points to take away a share of 8.2 per cent. After enjoying success last week, Big FM saw a no loss no gain week at 7.7 per cent. Radio One saw dip in numbers as it lost 0.2 points.

Kolkata- Leader Mirchi maintained status quo in the city at 20.1 per cent. Continuing a good run, Big FM added 0.1 points to its kitty, climbing its way up at 17.6 per cent. Friends FM at third position snapped a massive 0.4 points cornering 11.8 per cent of the share to widen the gap for the next competitor Aamar FM, which lost 0.1 points. Red FM had a no loss no gain week at 8.9 per cent while Fever gained 0.1 points. Meow FM which followed next managed to topple Radio One in the number game. Meow gained 0.4 points as against Radio One which lost a heavy 0.5 points 

Mumbai- FM stations in Mumbai saw a good run in week 28 as most of them saw a surge in their listnership. Mirchi maintained status quo in Mumbai as well, though it managed to lock the top spot at 17.3 per cent. Crawling up, Red FM added 0.2 points to the board knocking off 14.3 per cent market share. Radio City and Big FM both added numbers to its listnership base as they gained 0.3 and 0.2 points respectively extracting 13.4 and 11.8 per cent of the market share. AIR FM Gold also gained 0.2 points followed by Fever which maintained status quo at 11.2 per cent
