Red FM bags three medals at the New York Festival 2016

MUMBAI: With over 180 categories and more than fifty countries participating, winning a medal and gaining recognition at the renowned New York Festival is no small deal. One of India's leading radio networks – Red FM – has won three bronze medals at the prestigious event’s 2016 edition.

Founded in 1957, New York Festival’s World’s Best TV & Films competition has honoured contents in all lengths and forms, and Red FM has been awarded three bronze medals as part of World’s Best Radio Program competition.

‘Morning No. 1 With RJ Disha’ bags a bronze medal under the Best Human Interest Story for its onus to wake up Bengaluru to a 100 per cent unadulterated infotainment every morning.

RJ Praveen’s show ‘Ek Kahaani Aisi Bhi – Season 3’ revolving around horror stories was felicitated with ‘Best Innovation’ category.

Lastly, RJ Devaki hosted bold initiative focusing on the dark realities of society and its treatment towards women titled ‘Women Diaries’ won an honour under ‘Best Two Way Telephone Talk/Interview’ category.

The COO at Red FM, Nisha Narayan commented on the network’s recent global success, “In a constantly evolving and challenging industry scenario, being recognized for creativity, innovation and clutter breaking campaigns is an encouraging impetus. Being awarded at a prestigious platform such as the New York Festivals, is an exhilarating experience. Menstruation was a brave topic chosen by RJ Devaki, embodying the spirit of RED FM. Women's Diary gave an opportunity to the society to deal with the subject in a mature way showcasing the power of Radio to effect social change.”
