Radio Misty enters India Book of Records for longest running duet show

MUMBAI: Radio Misty has created a national record. The station that runs in Siliguri and Gangtok has become the first radio station to have the longest running duet show on private FM in the country.

The show titled 'Misty Subha' has completed 2599 episodes from 14 November 2007 to 29 February 2016. This is the longest running duet show hosted by RJ DT and RJ Bhavna.

India Book of Records has approved this as a national record. "I am very proud of this achievement for where most metro stations see the RJs come and go Radio Misty has RJs that have stayed around for nine years. In fact, our entire team has stayed intact since, its inception except for a few who had to move out due to their personal reasons," stated Radio Misty vice president Dilip Dugar.

However, this is not the first record that the station has created. It entered the India Book of Records in 2009 for having the youngest radio CEO in Nishant Mittal, who was 22 at the time. In the same year, Radio Misty made it to the Limca Book of Records for being the first station to play in five languages - Hindi, English, Nepali, Bhojpuri and Bengali. In 2011, it yet again entered the Limca Book of Records for being the first FM station to have partnered with Radio Netherlands.

"We as a team believe in a lot of innovation. We just don't play music. We are also the only radio station to have live shows. We do not pre-record shows," said Dugar.

The station also receiving approximately 50,000 letters from their listeners every year.
