Red FM's 'Mumbai Ke Asli Heroes' to feature Happy Feet Home Foundation

MUMBAI: With an aim to highlight real life heroes in the city, Red FM’s ‘Mumbai Ke Asli Heroes’ will feature ‘The Happy Feet Foundation’ this week. The show’s RJ- Rishi Kapoor will host Mansi and Abhishek, who are founders of the organisation, and a few children from the foundation to interact with the station’s listeners.

The Happy Feet Foundation was started by Mansi Shah and Abhishek Tatiya, who preferred happiness over money. The two work in social and corporate sectors, respectively but wanted to do something for children, prompting them to start the foundation.

Speaking on the journey of the organisation, Shah asserted, “We always wanted to be the reason for somebody’s happiness, so I had started planning for this back in 2013 itself. After a lot of planning and efforts, Happy Feet Home started its operations in August 2014. ‘Happy Feet Home Foundation’ is all about giving these children’s and their families’ emotional support looking after their nutrition all free of cost. I am really grateful to Red FM for the honor of ‘Mumbai Ke Asli Heroes’ and to my kids for giving me a chance to be one.”

‘Happy Feet Home Foundation’ has over 240 children who are enrolled with the organisation, which is being supported by TATA Memorial Hospital and Lokmanya Tilak Muncipal General Hospital (Sion Hospital). Children are counseled and tested under the care of Integrated Counseling and Testing Centre (ICTC), which organised a crowd funding campaign earlier this year, and managed to raise Rs 7 lakhs.

The Happy Feet Foundation is a hospice for terminally ill kids. Children who are in their last days due to illness can spend time in a happy and normal environment; while undergoing treatment for cancer, HIV, Thalassemia and various other terminal or critical illnesses.

The show feature the foundation will be aired on 27th November, 2015 at 5 pm.
