As Delhi's alarmingly poor air quality worsens during Diwali, RED FM launched this initiative, as a part of its post- Diwali campaign to motivate citizens to become conscious about the environment and encourage them to plant more trees. The campaign started last week in two of the main metros of India-Delhi and Mumbai.

Commenting on this initiative, North Delhi Municipal Corporation mayor Ravinder Gupta said, “I would like to congratulate the RED FM team for creating this awareness campaign. Together with RED FM we planted more than 10,000 saplings.”

Supporting the initiative, Daler Mehndi, said, “DM Green Drive is the only NGO to be included in the Chief Minister's Task Force for the NCR region due to its massive achievement. So far we have planted more than eight lac saplings. At present, the DM Green Drive has associating itself with other NGO's or Organizations working for a similar cause of developing and taking care of environment. Getting associated with RED FM on this initiative will make sure that the message is passed on till the last mile and will definitely encourage the listeners towards making Delhi more clean and green.”

RED FM, COO, Nisha Narayanan stated, "The air pollution level shot up over six times the safe level this Diwali. Through this campaign RED turns Green our intention is to make people conscious of this damage to the environment, and to encourage them to combat the menace of increasing pollution by planting more a more trees. By joining hands with the MCD we are making sure that the planted saplings are nurtured well. I thank Daler Mehndi for associating with us and helping us spread the message to each and every Delhiite.”
