BBC World Service names Nuala McGovern as 'Outside Source' presenter

MUMBAI: Nuala McGovern has been appointed as the presenter of 'Outside Source' for BBC World Service. Prior to this, she was a presenter at 'Newsday' on BBC World Service and will resume her duties from 7 September, 2015. The radio news program was started with a sole intention of opening up about the news process for a global audience.

“We’re absolutely thrilled that Nuala is joining 'Outside Source' as the full-time presenter. Authoritative, engaging and with a wealth of experience, she’s the perfect person to lead the programme. Nuala cares passionately about making voices heard in the most difficult circumstances. 'Outside Source' aims to link the BBC correspondents with our listeners and Nuala understands just how to do that,” said BBC World Service senior commissioning editor Steve Titherington.

The program 'Outside Source' broadcasts every weekday from BBC’s newsroom in London. The program uses BBC’s global network of journalists, worldwide audience and social media to analyse talking points around the world. It also digs deeper and talks about how the news was made and analyses on how it was covered.

Before her role as a presenter for ‘Newsday,’ McGovern was presenter and producer for 'World Have Your Say' on BBC World Service.
