æInternational Radio FacesÆ photo shoot at IRF 2015 ends

BENGALURU: Last year, the International Radio Festival (IRF) started a new activity-that of clicking images of all the invited radio guests. Services of professional photographer Tobias Stahel, who used a Lecia camera last year, and now uses a Nikon P810, were used.

Stahel converts the images to monochrome and these images are then put up on the IRF website in the International Radio Faces section. For IRF 2015, the photo shoot lasted two days - 28 and 29 August. Stahel’s skill sets with the camera are well known by one and all at the IRF and there were queues, even by the radio celebrities, to have him click their images in various moods.

The IRF 2015 Sound of India contest winner Siddharth Mishra, his producer Aanchal Sethi, as well as the Radioandmusic.com team were invited to pose for individual photo sessions at a temporary, but highly professional studio set up by Stahel. The photoshoot was sponsored by IRF 2015 sponsor – Swiss watchmaker Swatch.

After the photoshoot, the team from India went for the short round boat trip on Lake Zurich - the cost of the ride as well as local transport in a number of cities is included in the Swiss Travel pass, which was courtesy Swiss Tourism. The boat that the Indian team selected provided a public transport system for the people that live or want to travel around the lake, and also as a tourist offering. It was interesting to see various stops or stations with names such as Wollishoffen, Thalwil, Zurichorn, Rapperswil, etc.

A part of the India team then decided to head out for a cruise on the Limmat river. Instead of the actual starting point Landesmuseum, the team embarked from Limmatquai station. The Limmat river cruise is something that must be experienced by every visitor to Zurich. The narrow boat just manages to glide below the many bridges that cross the section that connects Zurich Old Town and modern Zurich.

Two boat rides – one on the picturesque Lake Zurich and the other one also on part of Lake Zurich, but more interestingly on the river Limmat were like manna for heaven for a traveller. All in all, a most enjoyable experience for all.
