NEW DELHI: Open House meetings will be held on the first working days of every month with operators of community radios or permission holders to provide a forum for applications and operating stations to track the status of their applications.

The meetings to be conducted by the Joint Secretary in the Information and Broadcasting Ministry from 11am to noon will relate to pending applications not only with the Ministry, but with the Home and Defence Ministries and units like the WPC of the Information Technology Ministry with regard to permissions and the Directorate of Advertising and Visual Publicity for empanelment.

The aim of the meetings is to bring in greater transparency and accountability in grant of permissions of CRS and clarify procedures.

Those wishing to participate have to inform the Ministry by the 25th day of the previous month.
