Mussoorie school to start own CR station

MUMBAI: The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting has given the go ahead to Guru Nanak Fifth Centenary School, Mussoorie in Uttarakhand to operate its own Community radio station, â€?Radio Khushi' 

The school has been granted its GOPA by the ministry for establishing, maintaining and operating a Community Radio Station and the station is expected to be operational within three months, as per the agreement.

Guru Nanak Fifth Centenary Society under whose aegis Guru Nanak Fifth Centenary School is run, intends to serve the civil society on issues relating to developmental, cultural, local and national events, civic and traffic issues, calamities and other significant matters. The services of Doctor/ health workers will also be used in conceiving radio programmes.

This is the 47th community radio station to get I&B ministry's approval to start its operations.
