Community radio station hands out free radio sets

MUMBAI: Basildon community radio station Gateway 97.8 has recently launched a special project to support vulnerable residents and hand out free radio sets. The initiative is in partnership with Basildon Round Table and includes distributing radios to residents who are over 70 and isolating.

According to the report, the free radios will have the station, on 97.8FM, as a saved pre-set.

Gateway 97.8 said, “it recognizes that radio is a vital source of news information and companionship in these times”.

“Gateway is delighted to run this project for the people of the borough. It is a lovely idea to reach so many more people. I would like to thank Basildon Round Table for making this possible” Station Director, Danny Lawrence adds.
