BENGALURU: Kannada GEC Kalki Kannada has roped in Wipro brand Santoor and realty player San City to sponsor a full show ‘Sangeetha Rasamanjari’, by legendary singer S P Balasubramainiam. The very first musical event of SPB post his completion of 50 years in the Industry took place last week, in Bengaluru, the Silicon Valley of India. The show will be aired on the 15 January, 2016 as a Sankranthi Special Show.

Balasubramanyam also lovingly known as SPB or Balu, started his career in the year 1966 and debuted as a playback singer with ‘Sri Sri Sri Maryada Ramanna’. Since then he has recorded over 40,000 songs in various Indian languages and created a Guinness World Record for recording the highest number of songs.

SPB was accompanied by Kannada playback singer MD Pallavi. The show recollects songs from the 60s, 70s, 80s and 90s and includes a special medley performed by the legend on all the celluloid heroes he has sung for in the cinema Industry.

‘Kalki Kannada’ which was launched close to Dussehra in 2015, claims that it has already reached over 10 million viewers.
