Renovation in store for JioMusic as the brand gears to become 'JioSaavn'

MUMBAI: As per the reports by a leading telecom news portal, JioMusic is slated to be upgraded to JioSaavn - the flagship music streaming platform of Reliance Industries Limited (RIL).

Reliance’s this major development in the world of online music streaming came after Jio users started getting a 90 days subscription of ‘Saavn Pro’ post registering on Saavn app for the first time via there Jio mobile numbers. This offer, which dropped three weeks earlier to this rebranding announcement, had created guesswork among Jio subscribers.

But to break hearts of many Jio users, JioSaavn shouts out for a subscription-based music streaming service, aka Pro-level subscription, which will end the free benefits like unlimited downloads and ad-free streaming users were cherishing until now. But, users will be able to stream music for free, which is enough to bring a smile on the faces of the trusted Jio and Saavn customers. Also, the makers have found a good way to test the new rebranding as well as its features, among users, by providing the first three months of JioSaavn Pro-level subscription for free. This indeed is a good move to make JioSaavn popular as after the free trial ends as users have a choice to either opt for the Pro-level subscription or enjoy the free tier option by giving up the additional perks the paid subscribers will receive.

JioMusic and Saavn’s merger was announced in March this year. At the time of the announcement, Reliance had also shared the aim behind this fusion, which was to make this combined platform – one of the largest global online streaming platforms. Thus, one can anticipate a fabulous streaming experience soon owing to the strong combination of the powerful infrastructure of Reliance Industries and the biggest online music catalog of Saavn.

Well, we will have to wait and watch out until JioMusic is finally available for the users.
