India Bike Week announces music line-up for the 2016 event

MUMBAI: Conceptualized and initiated in 2013 by Seventy Event Media Group and Fox Life, India Bike Week is the nation’s largest dedicated biking festival. This year, the event builds on its cultural credentials by putting together a musical line-up sure to excite India’s music junkies.Spread across two days, Vagator will see 11 artists performing acts in genres as varied as classic rock, blues, retro, organic grooves, soul/funk, hip hop, and EDM.

The artists you can expect to see:

Day 1:-

Main Stage:

·        Girish& The Chronicles – Indian hard rock/heavy metal band from Gangtok, Sikkim. GATC is a four member band, known for their electrifyingly energetic live shows. Heavily influenced by bands such as Led Zeppelin, ACDC, Deep Purple, Iron Maiden and Guns and Roses.

·        Soulmate– A blues rock band from Shillong, known as the band that reignited blues in India.

·        The Other People – A band from Bombay who perform everything from rock and pop to rock n' roll, blues and reggae, and even a few retro tunes if the vibe is right.

DSK Stage:

·        Rodney Branigan– A multi-talented musician with a voice that delivers honest, self-penned lyrics with soul and feeling. He is a globally recognized performer of progressive folk fusion, acoustic rock, and Texan blues.

·        Thaalavattam – A band based out of Bangalore with a vision to create music using innovative instruments made from waste plastic and metal, with a mission to clean up the plastic waste that is plaguing the country.

Day 2:-

Main Stage:

·        Paper Queen – One of the brightest new talents to come out of India’s thriving music scene, she performs a unique blend of hip hop influenced trap, future bass and hard style to the cooler side of EDM.

·        Su Real – This Delhi based musician is changing the face of bass music in India, one drop at a time. Possessed of the rare talent to both  appease the crowd with contemporary club hits and get them moving to underground sounds.

·        MidivalPunditz– Easily India’s biggest and most prolific electronica act. The past decade has seen the rise of the electronica scene within India and no single band has had more influence on its growth than MidivalPunditz. Their 'Indian Electronica' is a mix of edgy electronic music with Indian sounds, and some bangin’ beats.

DSK Stage:

·        SiddCuotto - A singer and multi-instrumentalist from Mumbai most famously known as the drummer of alternative rock act Zero. Sidd's most recent act is his solo live looping set where he plays multiple instruments and performs improvised songs on the fly with topics sourced from the audience.

·        Karl Hungus – An international Soul/Funk artist known for his deep remixes. 

Howling Bar:

·        Elektrovertz DJ- Afemale DJ duo based out of Mumbai, whose major obsession for years now has been electronic and dance music, leading them to find their passion which is producing music and dj-ing. Their electric energy is contagious enough to get any party pumping.

As India Bike Week expands its scope year after year, it’s never lost sight of the values with which it started: good times and good friends, complemented by an amazing array of musicians.
