Makers of 'Shaandaar' buy rights from Saregama for a special track

MUMBAI: Shahid Kapoor and Alia Bhatt starrer ‘Shaandaar’ will have a special song titled ‘Neend Na Mujhko Aye’ which will be unveiled at a coffee shop in Mumbai on 6 October mid-night. The film makers bought the rights of the song from Saregama for an undisclosed sum.

The track is from a black and white film ‘Post Box 999’ that released in 1958.

The new track to be released by ‘Shaandaar’ team is a remixed version of the original song which was composed by Kalyanji Anandji, and vocals were rendered by Hemant Kumar and Lata Mangeshkar.

‘Neend Na Mujhko Aye’, is the fourth song will be released by the makers of ‘Shaandaar’ along with video. However, the entire audio track of film is composed by Amit Trivedi and is already available on YouTube and the rights of which has been acquired by Zee Music. However, the latest addition will be a surprise track.

Considering the song is based on Kapoor and Bhatt's insomniac characters, the song captures the mood right and this is why the makers took a decision launch the song at midnight.

The trailer and songs of ‘Shaandaar’, directed by Vikas Bahl, have so far created a buzz. The film is slated to release on 22 October.
