Universal Music names Franck Villet as Asia COO

MUMBAI: Universal Music has appointed Franck Villet as chief operating officer of Asia effective 17 August, 2015. He will play an integral role in enterprising operational and commercial growth across the region.

Based in Hong Kong, Villet will be a key member of the Asia leadership team and provide commercial, financial, strategic, operational and analytical insight to Greater China and South East Asia.

During his 15 years of experience, he held extensive senior commercial/financial management experience, working in global digital media and consumer tech business.

Villet has held COO and CFO roles with Activision Blizzard Inc and Vivendi Games in Asia and France, as GM for EA Mobile Singapore and most recently consulting digital and media interactive start up projects in Singapore and Germany.

Universal Music Asia Pacific president George Ash said, “Franck is a brilliant executive, with extensive knowledge and expertise across the greater Asian region and I am looking forward to working with Franck as he joins our regional management team. His immense skills in digital and media will be invaluable as we continue to evolve our company for the future entertainment industry.”

His past experience in digital will also hold a special importance in helping the company strengthen his digital space in the region.

Recently, Universal Music Group (UMG) appointed Jay Frank, to strengthen its digital especially streaming. He was appointed as global streaming marketing SVP which will help UMG to achieve its plan on digital.
