MUMBAI: Indo-Pak band 'Raeth', led by frontman Wajhi Farooki, performed at the second edition of Lager N Barrel Festival, held in Mohali on 25 September. The 10-year old band performed on the weekend to a crowd that cheered every original and cover song, and ended the elaborate set with 'Vande Mataram...Maa Tujhe Salam' to the delight of everyone present.

Frontman Wajhi Farooki spoke to Radioandmusic.com confirming that his band will soon release new material with Punjab-based Speed Records. “A new original along with a music video will be released soon. Speed Records have been extremely instrumental in making this happen,” said Farooki.

It would not be the first time for Raeth to work with an Indian record label. Earlier, the band has released songs with Universal Music India in 2008, before taking a hiatus. The band’s biggest commercial milestone arrived in the form of a single for Bollywood movie ‘3 AM’, starring Ranvijay.

Confirming the news, Speed Records director Satvinder Kohli added ,“It’s a very crucial time for this partnership,” considering the growing tension between the two countries.
