Pioneer India enters into DJing segment and will reach to customers with Reliance digital

MUMBAI: Japanese multi-national company Pioneer Corporation is targeting the Indian market to grow by foraying into the disc-jockeying market with its DJing products. Until now, Pioneer India Electronics was offering Indian buyers a range of products in different categories like car entertainment, head units, home entertainment and home theatre.

The company unveiled products like mixers (6 models), controllers (5 models), DJ Turntable (1 model), a DJ system, a remix station, speakers (two models), Headphones (3 models) and accessories, on 27 August. Through the product, the company is trying to target the professional and amateur DJ of India. The company aims to reach out to various DJs in India through their few affordable products.

Pioneer India Electronics Pvt. Ltd MD Toshiyuki Shindo said, "We are happy that we have launched the new DJ segment in India. We will be reaching out to many consumers of our product now, through our partnership with Reliance Digital.” Currently there are around 170 Reliance Digital Stores in around 70 cities in India. In India, Pioneer DJ product range is available through Pioneer’s distributor Rivera International.

He further added, "These products made after years of research and development with famous DJs across the globe will serve as a perfect stepping stone for any amateur DJ. We have even tied up with a retail chain to demonstrate them with trained staff.” Pioneer’s affordable range of amateur DJ products will be on sale from next month.

Pioneer Corporation pro - sound and visual business division GM (Global Sales) Satoshi Nitta said, "DJ and Club business is a booming industry and India is an ever-growing market which is why we entered the space.”

The company is planning to promote the products through various training institutions and by partnering with multiple DJs in various Indian states. The launch of the products was followed with live demonstration by Roane Acey- winner of DMC India Championship 2013.

Pioneer recently celebrated its 20th anniversary in the DJ industry and still holds a majority share of the market. The company came to India in 2009 and since then has been growing until last year, when the car entertainment segment witnessed fall in sales.
