Jubin Nautiyal: I cannot sign any exclusive deal with a label

MUMBAI: Although many singers and musicians are being snapped up by record labels, or at least are hoping to sign with a label, ‘Meherbani’ singer, Jubin Nautiyal has different plans. He revealed that while he has not been approached as yet, he does not intend on singing an exclusive deal with a label. “I want to work with everyone,” he explained.

And considering his recent work, it is no wonder why he wants to expand his musical repertoire with as many other musicians as possible. He recently crooned the track ‘Bandeya’ from the film ‘Jazbaa’ which stars Aishwarya Rai Bachhan and Irrfan Khan. The track has music by composer duo- Amjad Nadeem, and lyrics by Sanjay Gupta, and Amjad Nadeem.

“I am very thankful to Amjad Nadeem, who gave me this opportunity to sing this song. It feels great to have my vocals projected in such a big film. And the best part is that they give you the freedom you want,” said Nautiyal. The track was recorded in just a few hours, and Nautiyal was given the freedom to improvise on the track and be himself.

In addition to ‘Bandeya’, Nautiyal has also rendered vocals for the song ‘Samandar’ for the film ‘Kis Kisko Pyaar Karu’, which features comedian Kapil Sharma. The song is composed by Tanishk Bagchi and features popular Bollywood singer Shreya Ghoshal, who he is excited about having a duet with. “I am actually working with Tanishk a lot; he is very talented and hard working. Whatever he does, he gives more than 100 per cent,” he added.

Apart from his Bollywood projects he is also working on a few singles, and is creating a bank for the same. Nautiyal also revealed that he might soon release an album with the singles he has.
