Pandora partners with Mumford & Sons for live streaming

MUMBAI: Pandora, the leading internet radio service, has partnered with Mumford & Sons and Glassnote Records to livestream the band's sold out Merriweather Post Pavilion show on Wednesday, 10 June  at 9 PM EST.

In anticipation of the livestream, Mumford & Sons has curated a digital mixtape for Pandora listeners, which is available now via the special Mumford & Sons Live Pandora station. Mumford & Sons' latest album Wilder Mind recently hit #1 on the Billboard charts, and the first single off the set reached #1 on both the Alternative Songs and Adult Alternative Songs chart.

Wilder Mind follows the 2012 release of Mumford & Sons' sophomore album, 2012's Grammy-winning Babel, the follow-up to their 2009 debut album, Sigh No More.

Mumford & Sons will travel coast-to-coast in the US and Canada this summer in support of Wilder Mind, including headline shows in Brooklyn and Chicago, appearances at Bonnaroo, Outside Lands, Squamish and their own Gentlemen of the Road Stopovers. The band recently performed songs off the new record on Saturday Night Live, CBS' Late Show with David Letterman and on Comedy Central's The Daily Show with Jon Stewart.

The Merriweather Post Pavilion show is a unique opportunity for Pandora listeners to experience Grammy-winning Mumford & Sons' widely praised live performances, regardless of where they are. This show is the latest example of the ongoing efforts by Pandora to connect its artists and listeners, having released its Artist Marketing Platform (AMP) late last year.

"Mumford & Sons are obviously one of the top bands in the world, and they have managed to achieve this status while maintaining an intimate bond with their audience," said Lars Murray, senior vice president of Pandora's Music Maker Group. "Pandora's mission is to be the leading connector of artists and listeners, and we are elated to be working with the band and their label, Glassnote, to amplify this event to a national audience."
