Artist Aloud collaborates with Shankar Mahadevan Academy

MUMBAI: With an aim to provide a platform to upcoming artists, Artist Aloud has collaborated with veteran singer composer Shankar Mahadevan’s academy - Shankar Mahadevan Academy (SMA).

Artist Aloud will not only promote the academy’s talent but will also distribute content through its online and on-ground platforms. The content for the platforms will be selected by the academy.

Artist Aloud vice president Soumini Sridhara Paul said, “A while ago, I had personally got in touch with Shankar Mahadevan and told him about this idea of a collaboration and he was very happy with it. Thus the association happened. The best part is that we will be promoting talents and make it accessible to maximum people.”

However, Paul remained tight-lipped when asked about the time frame of the association. When asked about Mahadevan’s involvement, she said, “He will be there whenever we need him. The thing is he is juggling with so many things at a time that he might not be there with us always.”

Mahadevan said, “Artist Aloud is a great platform to showcase and promote music and new talented artists. The aim is to bring high-quality music online for listeners across boundaries.”

The total student strength of the Academy is over 5000 across online, schools and corporate and affiliates. It offers over 290 courses and has delivered more than 38,000 virtual classes. During the course, the original content created by the students of SMA will be collected and approved by the Academy. Out of the approved, selected music content and artists will be promoted by Artist Aloud.

Artist Aloud will be distributing the approved content across 25 platforms including Hungama, iTunes and other mobile operators. The platform currently houses 300 artists across a range of Indian and International genres.
