Anthony Zameczkowski bids goodbye to YouTube to join start-up 'Victorious'

MUMBAI: Singapore-based Anthony Zameczkowski ends his more than eight years association with YouTube, to join US based Victorious. He will be joining at the global managerial position to build the business globally. As of now, there is no word on who will replace him.

In his new stint, he will remain in Singapore, but will travel the globe to built new businesses and partnerships for Victorious.

Commenting on his move, Zameczkowski said, “YouTube has become a mature company. I was very keen on having a more entrepreneurial and managerial role so I decided to join a start-up. It is an opportunity to build the business from scratch and build a team as well.” One of the investors in the LA-based startup is former YouTube executive- Dean Gilbert. Speaking of his relationship with Gilbert he said, “I have maintained a good relationship with him over years. He has been my boss at YouTube, and it will be great getting to work with him again.”

Zameczkowski joined YouTube in November 2006 and was among the first few employees of the video sharing site at that time. This was around the same time YouTube was acquired by Google. His role with the platform included looking after partnerships in Europe, Middle East and Africa. He then worked in building relationships in Europe, Asia and Russia. Zameczkowski said, “It was very exciting then because I was part of the something new. Then, YouTube was not the same as it is today."

Commenting on his journey with YouTube, he said, “It was a great opportunity to be with the company right from the start until now, when it is strong everywhere.”

At YouTube, he held various roles like Strategic Partner Development Manager for EMEA, Strategic Partner Development Manager for France & CEE, Head of Partnerships for Greater China & South East Asia, Head of Music for Asia Pacific and his most recent role as Director of Music & Brand Partnerships for Asia Pacific.
