Saavn, Viva Bahrain partner for streaming service for South Asians

NEW DELHI: Audio streaming service Saavn and Viva Bahrain have joined in a strategic partnership to bring Saavn Pro to South Asian audiences in Bahrain.

Viva Bahrain is a subsidiary of the Saudi Telecommunications Company (STC). The subscription based Saavn Pro gives users access to unlimited, high-quality music downloads for ad-free, offline listening. As part of the partnership, physical distribution of Saavn Pro scratch cards will be carried out at all Viva retail outlets, along with digital distribution of Saavn Pro codes via free SMS, offering Viva’s customers one free month of Saavn Pro upon purchasing a one-month subscription.

“Partnering with Viva enables Saavn to offer our premium, all-inclusive audio experience to a new subscriber base in Bahrain,” said Saavn executive chairman and co-founder Paramdeep Singh. “This is only the beginning of our strategic partnership, as we look forward to expanding our rich user experience and high engagement rates with the large South Asian diaspora population across the MENA region.”

Viva Bahrain chief commercial Andrew Hanna said, “We are pleased to partner with a global streaming brand like Saavn to expand Viva’s subscriber services. Saavn Pro’s unlimited download package, in 12 South Asian languages, presents a complete music offering for the Asian community.”

Viva subscribers who download the free Saavn app from iOS or Android can purchase a code valid for access to Saavn Pro in one of three ways: by sending a free SMS with the word “SAAVN” to 98691; by purchasing a Saavn Pro scratch card from any of VIVA’s retail shops; or by purchasing Saavn Pro code from any of Viva’s self-service SADAD machines.
