MUMBAI: Legendary poet and filmmaker Gulzar saab was awarded with Honorary Doctorate in Urdu Literature by the Maulana Azaad National Urdu University (MANUU) on Saturday in Hyderabad.
Union HRD Minister Kapil Sibal presented the doctorate to Gulzar at the fourth convocation of the University.

MUMBAI: On the occasion of Nobel laureate Rabindreanath Tagore’s 250th birth anniversary, the Children’s Film Society India (CFSI) recently celebrated Tagore and his connect with the children in Nandan, Kolkata.

NEW DELHI: Hope Gaur, a veteran and popular broadcaster and former senior producer of All India Radio (AIR), passed away.
Ninety-year old Gaur breathed her last after a brief illness. Gaur had headed the Western Music Department in the AIR till her retirement in 1983.
Born in Lucknow on 12 October 1922, she worked with AIR for over 30 years.
She had initiated several popular programmes in the Western Music Department, and had personally hosted popular programmes like A Date with You and The Forces Request.
