MUMBAI: With soundtracks adding a new dimension to e-reading, Booktrack has launched the first of many electronic books (ebooks) with an orchestral score and sound effects to engage the interest of youth in literature.
The concept is already in use in the US, where the classics of Charlotte Bronte, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle and William Shakesphere come with added sound effects.
The concept developed by Booktrack synchronises music to each novel. The ebook firm is funded by Peter Thiel, co-founder of online payment company PayPal.

MUMBAI: 9X Media, the company controlled by private equity firm New Silk Route, is all set to foray into regional music genre with Punjabi music channel �9X Tashan'. The channel will go on air from Wednesday, 31 August and will be available across satellite and cable homes.

MUMBAI: Reliance Broadcast Network (RBNL), the holding company of Reliance ADAG's FM radio and broadcasting businesses, is once again looking to raise up to Rs 4 billion and is in talks with various private equity firms.
Talking to Radioandmusic.com, RBNL chief financial officer Asheesh Chatterjee said: "We are planning to raise up to Rs 3-4 billion this fiscal to fund expansion in radio and TV broadcasting businesses. We have appointed Yes Bank as one of our investment bankers and are in talks with private equity players."

MUMBAI: Filmwriter Soumik Sen and Eros International have decided to make a film based on composer R D Burman.
The production house has reportedly gone ahead and registered the film's title R.D. with the Association of Motion Pictures & TV Programme Producers (AMTPP).
Eros has also decided to sign Vinay Pathak to essay the role of the noted music composer while Chitrangda Singh has been approached to play Burman's wife in the film.
