MUMBAI: Recording Industry Association of America has named Cary Sherman as chairman and CEO. Sherman, joined the RIAA as general counsel in 1997, and has served as president of the organization since 2001.
Sherman, 63, takes the role on 1 September and succeeds Mitch Bainwol, 52, who has resigned to become chief executive of the Alliance of Automobile Manufacturers.
The RIAA has also promoted Mitch Glazier as senior executive vice president.
