MUMBAI:  BBC Hindi will bring together musicians from India and Pakistan on its special series â€?Friendship beyond Borders'. The series will be broadcasted via partnered FM station across India from 2-7 August. Friendship beyond Borders features artistes such as Shafqat Amanat Ali, Arif Lohar, Ali Azmat, Rekha Bharadwaj, Salim-Sulaiman and Mohit Chauhan conversing on music, mutual understanding and peace. FM phase-III to offer only 4 licences in metros

MUMBAI: Finally it came in, even if it was way too late. The much-awaited phase-III policy approved by the government last month though cheered up the industry, but it has too little to offer for the metros. This may spell some bad news for FM stations as that is where lies the pot of gold. According to government officials, only four FM licences will be available for metros. Out of the total, two will be in Mumbai, one each in Delhi and Chennai while there is no licence up for grabs in Kolkata. Currently Mumbai has seven, Delhi and Chennai have eight stations respectively. ...
