MUMBAI: After the success of the awards last year, The Global Indian Music Academy is back in its second edition, which will be held at the Kingdom of Dreams in late September.
The nominations for 2011 has been announced. Chevrolet GIMA Awards 2011 has received over 1500 entries including over 40 prominent films and 160 non-film albums. This year the awards has included two new categories Best digital music releases and Best Pop-Rock Single.

MUMBAI: Celebrating the spirit of 64th Independence Day, Tata Teleservices Limited (TTL) has tied up with Universal Music Group (UMG) for exclusive rights of AR Rahman's patriotic song �Satyamev Jayathe' from his recently released album �SuperHeavy'.
TTL will offer exclusive rights of the music album for initial three weeks to its Docomo and Tata Indicom customers. �Satyameva Jayathe' will include vocals of international legends Mick Jagger who will croon sanskrit verses of the song along with Rahman, Dave Stewart, Joss Stone and Damian Marley.

MUMBAI: BBC World Service has re-launched its Tamil website bbctamil.com with new features, content-sharing functions, a mobile version and an access to archived radio programmes.
Revamped bbctamil.com has a wider format, featuring more detailed content categorization, videos stories and image galleries. In addition to the day's radio programmes, users can listen to archived materials for a week from the day of the broadcast. User can also share content via online social-networking sites such as facebook and twitter.

MUMBAI: HTC Corp. has announced a strategic partnership and investment with 'Beats by Dr. Dre.' to bring high performance sound to HTC phones. The Taiwanese company has agreed to buy a 51 percent stake in Beats Electronics LLC for $300 million.
HTC and Beats have been working together to create superior mobile audio experiences for consumers, which will result in a line of HTC devices integrated with Beats sound innovations, available this fall.

MUMBAI: Buoyed by the success of the Indian Premier League (IPL), Multi Screen Media (MSM) is on an expansion mode.
