MUMBAI: The Dublin-based Solaris Mobile Ltd has tied up with leading Italian media publishing group Class Editori, to launch digital radio services for listeners across Italy.
The initial phase of the radio services will commence in October 2011 with deployment of hybrid satellite and terrestrial network in Milan. Solaris Mobile is partnering major Italian network operators for provision of the terrestrial transmission network.

Launch of the Nokia Smartnights WebCert will feature Shankar Mahadevan in a first ever digital live concert. MUMBAI: BBC director of audio and music Tim Davie announced the launch of the BBC Audio Research Partnership at an industry event at MediaCityUK.
BBC Research and Development will use the initiative to work in closer collaboration with leading universities in the field of audio research and innovation. Its primary academic partners will be University of Surrey for audio-visual research and University of Salford for research into acoustics.

MUMBAI: Microsoft has announced the launch of music streaming service �Xbox Music' which will offer instant access to more than 11 million songs. Based on Zune Marketplace, the service will enable users with voice commands to search for songs.
CEO Steve Ballmer revealed in a Conference, that Xbox Music will be available through the Xbox Live community and is expected to be in market by October. Users with Kinect for Xbox 360 will also be able to perform voice searches for the songs.
