MUMBAI: Record label Universal Music Group has collaborated with digital music platform ArtistAloud.com to promote and popularize independent music.
The collaboration is on project to project basis and earlier, both the companies have been associated with multiple projects like launch of Reth and Bandish bands, tribute to the King of pop, Michael Jackson's �This is it' performed by Sonu Nigam, and recent release of single by Nicole Scherzinger (Pussycat Dolls) with DJ Lloyd featuring Raja Hasan.

MUMBAI: Music legend Bhupen Hazarika has been admitted to Kokilaben hospital in suburban Andheri here after he complained of breathing problems.
The 85-year-old was hospitalised yesterday after he suffered breathing problems. He was treated immediately and is stable and doing fine, hospital sources told PTI today.
The maestro has been kept in the ICU and is under observation but is out of danger, the sources said.

MUMBAI: In a deal valued at $35 million, media conglomerate News Corporation has sold MySpace to online advertising network Specific Media.
News Corp had acquired MySpace in 2005 for $580 million when the site had 20 million users. The subscriber base subsequently grew to more than 76 million in October 2008. But the emergence of stronger rivals like Facebook forced the Rupert Murdoch-controlled company to find a buyer.

MUMBAI: Reliance Broadcast Network Ltd. (RBNL), part of the Anil Dhirubhai Ambani Group, aims to grow its revenue at an annual rate of 30 per cent over the next five years.
RBNL had posted a revenue of Rs 2.51 billion in FY'11, up 36 per cent from the year-ago period. This performance reflected strong growth in business operations under the aegis of Big FM.
Big FM has recorded revenue of Rs 1.75 billion, a growth of 15 per cent over previous fiscal. It remained EBITDA positive at Rs 280 million, a growth of 732 per cent.
