China plans merger of radio and TV network

MUMBAI: China plans to merge about 1,000 regional radio and television networks into a single national cable television network company, 'China Radio Television Network Co', as per media reports. The State Administration of Radio, Film and Television, SARFT, said the new company would be formed by year's end and would expand into mobile TV and online videos, the China Daily newspaper reported. ...

NEW DELHI: A scheme of Rs One billion has been approved by the Government for strengthening the transmission of broadcasting signals in Jammu and Kashmir to counter hostile propaganda from across the border. Some programs have already been taken up under this scheme both for All India Radio and Doordarshan. High Power Transmitters are being set up at three new locations in Srinagar, Leh and Jammu for AIR and DD. These will have the capacity of 10 KW each. ...
