Indian Music Academy reveals national level finalists MUMBAI: The Indian Music Academy has unveiled 18 finalists from the national level talent hunt that it conducted over a period of three months. The talents revealed at the IMA press conference on Wednesday in Mumbai are an interesting mix that pans from a 11-year-old Sufi singer to a 32-year-old Thumri exponent. MUMBAI: FM radio network My FM parent DB Corp, owner of India's second-most read newspaper, plans to raise as much as 3.85 billion rupees ($82 million) in an initial public offering starting 11 December. The Bhopal headquartered company will sell 18.2 million shares at 185 rupees to 212 rupees apiece. The offer, which ends on Dec. 15, consists of 12.7 million new shares and 5.45 million shares offered by Cliffrose Investment Ltd., an investor. ...

Naga band wins Hornbill rock contest

MUMBAI:  A rock band from Nagaland has won the Hornbill national rock contest 2009, in which a total of 20 bands from different cities of the country participated. "OFF", the band from Nagaland was awarded Rs 5,00,000 and a Casio WK 3300 synthesizer after the grand finale of the contest which concluded midnight last night, according to a PTI report.
