MUMBAI: At least 100 new FM transmitters with 100-watt capacity will be set up by All India Radio in remote localities of the North East, including Sikkim, during the 11th Plan period to boost transmission in the area.
According to a report in the Assam Tribune, 19 more FM transmitters with one-kilowatt capacity are also in the pipeline in the region during the period. This was stated by All India Radio, New Delhi's engineer-in-chief H R Singh, while inaugurating the Fourth Zonal Conference of the engineering heads of AIR stations of the NE region at Guwahati last weekend.

MUMBAI: Two internationally acclaimed bands 'White Lion' and 'FireHouse' will perform together at Shillong, together for the first time, on 13 December 2008.
To be held at J N Stadium, Shillong, the show is being billed as the 'mother of all concerts in the country'.
Firehouse would be performing in Shillong for the second time. Surprisingly, the band had earlier played at the same venue four years ago on the same date (13 December) in front of a record 35,000 fans.
