MUMBAI: Live Earth India, the massive concert promoting environmental awareness to be held in Mumbai on 7 December, has been cancelled due to the terror attacks.
A statement sent out late Friday night by the organisers, including former US vice-president Al Gore, one of the forces behind the venture, said that the event was called off.
The statement said that everyone involved with the concert was "stunned and saddened by the tragic events of the past few days" in which gunmen attacked two hotels and several major sites in Mumbai.

MUMBAI: All India Radio's Guwahati station has planned a one of a kind premiere of a book, 24 Frames, penned by an AIR official, Utpal Datta. The book will be premiered on 30 November 2008 at 8 am in the course of a specially designed programme.

NEW DELHI: Changing its earlier stand, the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India today said it had decided to accept the views of the government on limiting the sources of news and current affairs for FM radio but recommended that a review for expansion of sources may be considered after three years.
Similarly, while it accepted the Information and Broadcasting Ministry's categorisation of content to be treated as non-news and current affairs broadcast, the scope of such content may be enlarged after a period of three years after reviewing the experience.

According to co organiser Bluefrog's official website http://www.bluefrog.co.in/, the three day annual festival that was to have featured several prominent bands, including international ones, will now be held at a later date. This is possibly the first fallout on the cultural landscape of the city, as an aftermath of the terror attacks in Mumbai.
