Music studios in Mumbai's Film City and recording studios have been hit hard by the indefinite strike called by the FWICE that is demanding stipulated wages and regulated working hours. A total of about 1.5 lakh cine employees are on strike currently.

MUMBAI: Dandiya organiser Sankalp has decided to abstain from playing songs copyrighted to three major labels namely, T-Series, Big Music and Yashraj. The reason cited by Sankalp for this are the exhorbitant music royalties demanded by these labels for the music.
The move means many of the current popular chartbusters belonging to these labels will be missing from the Sankalp roster this year. Sankalp's chief attraction, Falguni Pathak would also refrain from singing Himesh's latest compositions, which are a hit among the dandiya players.

MUMBAI: Jharkhand will introduce an interactive radio programme — Aao Angrezi Sikhein — for primary schoolchildren from 2 October.
The programme, initiated by Jharkhand Education Project Council (JEPC) in association with the All India Radio, Ranchi has 150 lessons in English designed under the project.
Initially, it will cover Hazaribagh, Ranchi, Jamshedpur, Chaibasa and Daltonganj, and based on the success, the JPEC plans to cover all the districts of the state.
