MUMBAI: India's largest enforcement agency, The Indian Music Industry (IMI) anti piracy wing today organized a training programme for police officers of Maharashtra to raise awareness about Intellectual Property Rights and the importance of its protection. The programme was attended by over 100 Police officials, which included officers across all cadres such as inspectors and other ranked officials.

MUMBAI: Legendary sarod player Ali Akbar Khan died Friday at his residence in San Anselmo in California. He was 87.
The Hindustani classical music exponent died at about 10.30 a.m. India time following renal failure, his secretary Ashish Roy said.
He is survived by 11 children from his three marriages.
Born on April 14, 1922, in Cumillah in present day Bangladesh, Ali Akbar Khan was the son of legendary musician Ustad Allauddin Khan of the famous Maihar Gharana.

MUMBAI: Computer manufacturer Acer has announced its entry into the Indian mobile market with five new smartphones- DX900, DX650, X960, F900 and M900.
The handsets will be priced between Rs 24,000 and Rs 35,000. The company also announced its plans to introduce more handsets soon, starting from Rs 16,000 to capture the fast growing Indian mobile market.
