Radio is inherently a very strong medium. The only problem I see is revenue not growing as per the expectations of the broadcasters. And the biggest reason is the price war. The dropping of rates is the biggest challenge all of us face. We are not allowing ourselves to grow at a rate comparable with other mediums....

MUMBAI: Radio Mirchi and Red FM pegged gains in three of the four RAM metros per Radio Audience Measurement (RAM) data for Week 3 of 2011 (16 to 22 Jan 2011) across all people 12+ at all places of listening. While Radio Mirchi posted a strong gain of 1.7% of market share in Delhi and with 23.9% market share, is ahead, by 5%, of the second-placed Fever 104 FM (18.9%). In Mumbai, Red FM added 1.3% market share to close at 13.9% to be Number Two in the Mumbai market, with leader Radio Mirchi at 15.7%. Radio One was the second highest gainer in Mumbai, adding 0.6% to its market share.
