samsung MUMBAI: Samsung Telecommunications has announced the launch of its Flagship model Soul (SGH-U900) in the country. The company has also launched eight new advanced mobiles - SGH-i780, Samsung D780, Samsung E251, Samsung M120, Samsung J150, Samsung BeaT450, Samsung Guru 300. The new launches in the multimedia section are SGH-E251, SGH-M120 and SGH-J150. Samsung E251 in the music phone segment has a 1GB content loaded MicroSD, FM radio with RDS and MP3 music player. ...

UK youngsters ready to pay for music, says study

MUMBAI: According to a survey conducted by the University of Hertfordshire in the UK, people aged 14-24 finds that youngsters still love their music and are wiling to pay for it- but only on their own terms. What stands out in the result of the survey is that 80 percent of the users said they would pay for a "legal file-sharing service." US federal court okays re-selling of CD promos

MUMBAI: A US federal district court has ruled that selling promo CDs on eBay does not infringe copyright. The court ruled against Universal Music Group which had sued Troy Augusto, who regularly sells promo CDs on eBay. Universal claimed that music labeled "promotional use only" are the company's property and can never be resold or even thrown away and filed a copyright infringement lawsuit. ...
