MUMBAI: Samsung Telecommunications has announced the launch of its Flagship model Soul (SGH-U900) in the country. The company has also launched eight new advanced mobiles - SGH-i780, Samsung D780, Samsung E251, Samsung M120, Samsung J150, Samsung BeaT450, Samsung Guru 300.
The new launches in the multimedia section are SGH-E251, SGH-M120 and SGH-J150. Samsung E251 in the music phone segment has a 1GB content loaded MicroSD, FM radio with RDS and MP3 music player.

MUMBAI: A US federal district court has ruled that selling promo CDs on eBay does not infringe copyright. The court ruled against Universal Music Group which had sued Troy Augusto, who regularly sells promo CDs on eBay.
Universal claimed that music labeled "promotional use only" are the company's property and can never be resold or even thrown away and filed a copyright infringement lawsuit.

MUMBAI: Saregama India, which has launched The Underground Series, introducing 30 new talents across Kolkata, Mumbai and Delhi, has signed on some of the artistes for a three year contract.
It is for the first time that a major label is executing such a project at a large scale to promote artistes at the grass root level. The artistes who will cut an album with them are Parwati Kumari, Hamza Faruqui, Gaurav Issar from Mumbai and Jack Rabbit from Kolkata.

MUMBAI: Composer singer Shibani Kashyap will soon launch her fourth album under the Big Music label this September.
Kashyap will get to retain a 40 per cent royalty share of the physical as well as the digital sales.
The album has eight numbers, seven of which are composed and sung by Kashyap herself. The remaining one is a duet composed and song with disco king Bappi Lahiri. "The song composed by Bappida is a disco dance number and would create waves in the market."
