MUMBAI: Ormax Media has announced the launch of its music countdown chart Heartbeats in Kolkata.
The countdown chart is based on a combination of recall and likeability, and the report will be declared every fortnight. The syndicated tracking tool will cater to music channels and radio stations in West Bengal. Songs in both Bangla and Hindi will be researched amongst 15-38 year old audiences of music channels and FM stations. The original version of Heartbeats was launched in 2010 across Mumbai and Delhi.

‘Evolve’ recorded in Mumbai was mixed in Austin, Texas by Grammy-nominated mixing engineer Tim Palmer and was mastered in New York City by veteran mastering engineer Andy VanDette.

MUMBAI: UK Prime Minister David Cameron has put forth a proposal to allot age-certification on the explicit music-videos and images produced by mainstream artistes such as Rihanna, Beyoncé, Madonna and more.
The proposal of cinema-style certification has been presented in order to protect children from sexually suggestive music videos. According to the proposal, websites hosting explicit videos would be forced to introduce age-verification systems.

MUMBAI: Google’s mobile operating system Android has dominated China smartphone market growing its share by about 35 percent in 2011, according to technology research firm Analysys International.
The study revealed that android garnered 68.4 percent of the market share, a steep rise from 33.6 percent at the end of the first quarter of 2011.
The cementing of Android’s dominance in China came at the expense of Finnish mobile phone maker Nokia whose Symbian OS saw its market share dip to 18.7 percent last year.
