MUMBAI: Leading Asian independent label Rock Records has renewed and expanded its exclusive sales and distribution agreement with Universal Music in a deal which will see Taiwan-based Rock's catalog handled by Universal in mainland China.
The four-year deal adds China to the list of countries covered by the deal that was initially struck in July 2003: Taiwan, Hong Kong, Korea, Malaysia and Singapore. Until now, Rock distributed its own catalog in China. The new agreement covers back catalog, forthcoming releases and joint-venture initiatives.
