MUMBAI: Owing to the rising consumption of 3G services due to a considerable reduction in the data plans of some operators, the country has witnessed an increase in mobile data traffic by 92 per cent to reach around 25 petabytes in 2012, according to the MBit Index report by Nokia Siemens Network.
Mobile data in India nearly doubled in 2012, while 3G data tripled. The 92 per cent increase in mobile data traffic was generated by both 2G and 3G services in India between December 2011 and December 2012.
