MUMBAI: All India Radio's FM stations, the least advertised of all FM players, have been silently but slowly staking their claim in the popularity charts. If the latest RAM ratings for week 26 are to be believed, AIR FM stations, either Gold or Rainbow have made it to the top five in Mumbai, Delhi and Bangalore. In Kolkata, the two stations come in at number nine and ten, however.
As with the past few weeks, Mirchi has continued to hold its lead in the metros but has slipped again in Bangalore to Big FM by a slender margin.

MUMBAI: A Grant of Permission Agreement has been signed by the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting (I&B), Government of India to establish, maintain and operate a Community Radio Station (CRS) at Manav Rachna Education Society, Faridabad, Haryana.
The Community Radio Station is likely to be operational within three months as per the agreement. With this, the number of CRS will increase to 51 in the country.

MUMBAI: Music company Tips, that had resolved to take its artiste management division to a higher scale of activities in 2008 - 09, has decided to put it on a back burner.
Tips managing director Kumar Taurani admits that the division, which manages artistes like Atif Aslam, Apache Indian and others, netted negligible returns in the fiscal gone by. Consequently, the company's balance sheet for the year does not include the Artiste Management Division, stating that the company operates in two segments - audio and film.
